Lullaby Variations

Lullaby Variations – This composition takes a sweet little melody, turns it upside down, changes rhythms and key, speeds it up, slows it down, and keeps re-introducing it when the piece threatens to get lost in the woods somewhere. This one is wholly original. When dynamics change by only one , such as mp to mf, the transitions are meant to be smooth. The same applies to tempo, where a modest change is not intended to stop the flow, but is indicated to help keep players together. More major changes in dynamics, tempo, and mood are indicated and, hopefully, obvious. A fairly easy piece, there are no technical issues and the complete synth rendition is here. Although it was played in concert years ago, it was unrecorded.

Parts are for full choir, with piccolo, three C-flute parts, alto flute, bass flute, and contrabass flute.
